Dr. Lam always looks forward to being able to change a patient’s perspective on dentistry by giving them the positive, stress-free experience they deserve. Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
While in college, Dr. Lam wasn’t entirely sure what he wanted to do for his career. While in his junior year, he started volunteering at the dental clinics around San Diego, caring for underserved populations. This sparked an interest in dentistry – he really enjoyed helping others! He started to shadow his childhood dentist as well and even obtained his X-ray license so he could have a bigger role at the clinics and gain more experience. The rest, they say, is history.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After completing both his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and his Master of Science in Biology from the University of California, San Diego, Dr. Lam pursued his dental doctorate at Temple University in Philadelphia, graduating in 2014. Since then, he has pursued a great deal of continuing education to further expand his skills, focusing on specialty services like CEREC same-day restorations, oral sedation, dental implant placement, and much more. He is currently undergoing the John Kois curriculum for comprehensive dentistry!
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Lam just got engaged and is excited to be a married man in late September of 2022! When he isn’t busy caring for teeth, you can often find him dabbling in photography, BBQing, and traveling (especially breweries – he loves touring them). He’s also passionate about new technology, which is reflected all throughout our Burien dental office.
